Manchester

It’s a Sin opens at Aviva Studios in Manchester on 16 February 2027 and runs until the 27th, the first audiences anywhere to see Rambert’s new dance work. Manchester is where the tour begins.

The work is inspired by the Channel 4 series by Russell T Davies, and follows Ritchie, Roscoe, Colin and Jill through 1980s London. It opens in a city of nightlife and new freedom, and it closes somewhere much harder, as the AIDS crisis reaches them and changes everything about the lives they had just begun building. Joy as resistance. Love as survival.

Rambert and Factory International present the production together, which makes Aviva Studios its home venue as well as its first stop. It is directed and choreographed by Benoit Swan Pouffer, Rambert’s Artistic Director, with Russell T Davies, Pet Shop Boys and Glyn Fussell as executive producers.

Please note the production contains strong language, sexual content, partial nudity, and themes of HIV and AIDS, grief and homophobia.
