About Rambert

Rambert is the UK’s original dance company, known for making radical, adventurous work that pushes the boundaries of what dance can be and who it can be for.

“Rambert is a dance company currently firing on all cylinders” The Guardian

Founded in 1926 by Ballets Russes dancer Marie Rambert, the company became one of the most innovative voices in 20th-century dance. As Rambert turns 100 (the first UK dance company to reach this milestone), its commitment to bold storytelling and fresh perspectives continues to drive the company to innovate and collaborate with diverse artists, individuals and organisations. Rambert creates and tours distinctive works ranging from experimental contemporary commissions to large-scale collaborations rooted in popular culture, combining dance with live music, design and other art forms. The company platforms ideas from new and unexpected places, presenting work by leading choreographers and emerging voices alike, both across the UK and internationally. Rambert reaches over 80,000 people annually through tours, alongside UK-wide outreach engaging more than 15,000 young people, dancers and communities.

Rambert’s Chief Executive is Helen Shute and Benoit Swan Pouffer is Artistic Director. Rambert is a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England.
